Episode 22 - Sandy Brondello

The Reverse Pivot welcomes another GOAT: Sandy Brondello.
Sandy Brondello is a highly accomplished Australian women’s basketball coach, currently leading both the New York Liberty in the WNBA and the Australian Women’s National Team. Before transitioning into coaching, Brondello enjoyed a successful playing career in Australia, Germany, and the WNBA. Regarded as one of Australia’s greatest shooting guards, she represented the Opals at four Summer Olympics, earning three medals (two silver, one bronze) as a player, and added another bronze medal as a coach. A former student of the Australian Institute of Sport (1986–1987), Brondello was honoured with induction into the Australian Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010. In this episode, Sandy chats coaching values, tactics and techniques. It's an honour to welcome her to the podcast.

NBL alumni and current yoga teacher Simon Kerle joins The Reverse Pivot.
Simon played 18 years in the NBL, debuting at the age of 17 for the Brisbane Bullets and retiring at 35. Simon recalls his basketball career both in Australia and overseas, then delves into his practice of yoga and meditation; and how players could benefit from learning how to breathe better in games. Simon is currently the CEO of Raw Power Yoga in Brisbane.

Andrew Parkinson joins The Reverse Pivot for a in depth chat about his career and health challenges.

Ric Lawyer joins Bruce Palmer and Steve McLeod for the latest episode of The Reverse Pivot.
Ric Lawyer is a former president and a coach for the North Gold Coast Seahawks basketball club, with a history of leading teams to championships at both junior and senior levels, including coaching the Seahawks SBL team to six grand finals, winning four. Ric is also a glass artist with over 40 years experience. Upon relocating to Australia, he set up “The Glass Studio” in Mackay and started glass blowing at “The Fisherman’s Glass” studio. He then established his first hot gallery in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, continued in Kuwait and now has shop in Surfer’s Paradise.

Episode 16 - Michele Timms

Australian basketball legend Michele Timms joins Bruce and Steve for another episode of The Reverse Pivot.
Michele is a basketball coach and former player who was won five WNBL championships. Michele has played five seasons for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA, and he was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008 and the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2015. In 2024, Michele became the third Australian to be inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame. These days, Michele is the director of the Michele Timms Basketball Academy.
